Devotions for Dads were originally developed to provide dads with a tool for family discussion built around a given topic and passage of scripture. The motivation was the fact that for a number of years running the Center for Alcohol and Substance Abuse had identified ‘eating dinner together as a family’ as the single biggest way to keep kids off drugs. How much more then could a weekly 20 – 30 minute family discussion that referenced scripture and its application today, impact our kids? The reception has been strong, and the application has gone beyond the target. In addition to being used for family devotion time, men have used the Devotions for Dads for:
- Personal devotion and reflection time;
- Devotion and discussion with their wives on topics never broached before; and
- Men’s small group studies/discussions.
