FAITHFUL FATHERS

                             ...dads becoming heroes.

Some men have been blessed with dads that set great examples in the home, and some men have not.  Most had dads or father figures that were somewhere in between.  But every man has a Heavenly Father who can fill whatever gap or void exists in understanding the role of a faithful father - a dad that prioritizes physical presence, is engaged emotionally with his children and leads spiritually by example.

Being a faithful father is a journey that begins wherever a man is, and continues with a commitment to grow in his role as a father, to be better tomorrow than today.

The Faithful Fathering Initiative in Texas encourages and equips dads to step up as faithful fathers in the family, in the church and in the community.  FFIT challenges dads to become the true heroes of the next generation.  Are you up for the challenge?

‘Tip for dads’Consistency

Dads, consistency day by day in your child’s life can be a challenge. In our recent essay contest one young lady wrote,

‘My dad has many jobs. He is my tutor when I’m doing my homework, my doctor when I am sick, my bodyguard when I need to feel safe, and my lawyer when I’m in trouble with Mom.’

Now there is a dad that stepped up to the challenge of being consistently present in his daughter’s life!

In the gospel of John, chapter 10: 2-4, Jesus says, ‘The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. …and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.’

Dad, as you work at being consistent in your daily schedule, in your moods, in your ethics and in keeping your promises, your children will always know your voice, and you will become a hero in their eyes.
